New AI Copyright Registration Guidance

On March 16, 2023 the United States Copyright Office published guidance in the Federal Register on registering copyrights in AI-generated works and words that include and/or modify AI-generated content.  The U.S. Copyright Claims Board (CCB) issued its first two Final Determinations. One is a settlement and the other is a determination on the merits. The settled case involved a wrongful DMCA takedown notice. The determination on the merits involved a claim of infringement of the copyright in a photograph.
